Traveling VBS 2026
WHEN
Open Enrollment
Traveling Vacation Bible School seeks to provide the oversight, framework, and assistance necessary to allow for a VBS program within our smaller churches. Typically this includes a team of about 5-9 volunteers (depending on church need) which brings curriculum, crafts, and activities to help facilitate VBS within the local congregation. This team seeks to embrace the local church culture and ministry opportunities as well as engage with local brethren in carrying out the actual VBS. We also hope that VBS can be seen as a community outreach that can be helpful in the growth of the church itself.
Traveling VBS teachers are responsible for the physical, spiritual, and emotional welfare of Sunday School and/or community children for a five day duration. In addition to planning and overseeing the teaching, craft activities, and song service of the students, teachers are asked to form lasting relationships and share the gospel of Jesus Christ as an invitation to have a relationship with God. Teachers are expected to set the example for students in attitude and conduct, discipline, and solid Biblical teaching. The traveling VBS committee does not expect perfection, but does look for candidates who are living an overcoming life in Christ as demonstrated through Godly characteristics such as self discipline, joy, servant-hood, emotional stability, wisdom, etc.
