OVERVIEW
In 1991, a group of individuals saw a need for working with the youth in the Apostolic Church.  Through much counsel and planning, the first Junior High Boys Camp took place in Champaign, Illinois, in June of 1992.  Over the years, the number of participants has grown to more than 200 individuals including approximately 130 junior high boys.  The focus and mission of the Junior High Boys Camp is threefold:

  1. That campers would be exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. That campers would be able to meet others their age from different churches and build relationships.
  3. That campers would be able to witness healthy role models and interact with young adult Christian men.
The Jr. High Boys Camp is a 3-day (2 night) camp for Jr. high school boys that will have just finished their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years of school as of May 2026.  The weekend follows a main theme with singing, guest speakers and a comedic saga production.  Campers will be placed in cabins which are led by two Apostolic Christian brothers from across the Apostolic Christian congregation.  The weekend includes a ton of time spent playing outdoor games, swimming, team challenges, PAINTBALL, and a good deal of free time in nature.  Activities are structured between cabin-lead Bible study, devotion time, worship/singing, and plenty of food.

ATTENTION TO PARENTS REGISTERING
If you are registering for your child, please note that this is a multi-step process. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
  1. After you login or create an account for yourself, you need to add your child as a family member to register them for camp.  Details of how to do that can be found here:  Setting up a Family Account
  2. Once complete, login as your child by selecting the drop down next to your picture in the top right, select the appropriate opportunity, and then apply.
  3. To verify that you are registering your child, their name will be at the top of the application page.
  4. Registration will close June 1st - please make sure to confirm registration prior.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Campers will arrive Friday morning to the camp and depart Sunday morning by bus or pre-arranged transportation.  The camp address is as follows: 499 Old Timber Rd, Monticello, IL 61856.  You will be able to select your preferred means of transportation when you register.
Non-Central Illinois Residents: Parents are responsible for bringing their son(s) to camp on Friday and picking them up on Sunday.  You may choose to meet the bus at specific stop locations - Peoria, Goodfield, Bloomington, Fairbury.  Please select the bus stop you intend on using in your son(s) registration only if applicable.

Packing Reminders:
- Try to pack as light as possible...camp is only 3 days not 3 weeks!
- If possible, keep your sleeping bag and pillow together or have a camper's name on them.  Unpacking off the bus can be a bit chaotic and there have been campers that have gone the weekend without a pillow before!
- Please note that some of these NOT to bring items we consider very serious.  If a camper is found with any one of the items listed, parents will be called and asked to come and get him immediately regardless of place of origin.  Any other inappropriate items will be confiscated and held until the camp ends.  We have never had any problems in past years.  However, it is necessary for us to inform you and your son(s) of the consequences for such actions.  Thank you for your cooperation in this area.
